The event marked the official opening of the Italian Cultural Month Ciao Philadelphia organized by the Italian Consulate. The special evening welcomed Armando Varricchio, the Ambassador of Italy to the US and several American authorities, such as Joe Scarnati, President of the Pennsylvania Senate.
PHILADELPHIA, PA (USA) – Last October 4th, Fedegari proudly co-hosted a very special Italian evening at the Union League of Philadelphia to celebrate a story that has begun in Pavia, Italy: the city where the Italian General Consul of Philadelphia, Andrea Canepari and Giuseppe Fedegari, President of Fedegari Group, were born.
The story behind the event
An example of entrepreneurship for the Italian-American community, the Fedegari brothers, Giuseppe and Paolo have worked together for the expansion of the company founded by their father and uncle. After more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, the passion for great wines and a common willingness to reach excellence in every project led Fedegari brothers to an ambitious new venture: winemaking.
The friendship between Giuseppe Fedegari and the General Consul Andrea Canepari has brought to Philadelphia, for the first time in America, the sparkling wine produced by Fedegari brothers.
Ciao Philadelphia 2016 Inaugural Reception
During Ciao Philadelphia 2016 Inaugural Reception, very special friends invited by Fedegari and the Italian Consulate – including H. E. Armando Varricchio, Ambassador of Italy to the United States and Joe Scarnati, the President of the Pennsylvania Senate – could taste Fedegari sparkling wine: a three-year challenge of ageing that has already been awarded with the 3 Bicchieri (3 Glasses) of the Italian Gambero Rosso Wine Guide for 2016 and 2017.
“It was one of the best business events I’ve ever attended and I appreciate that Fedegari included me for this special evening. My husband and I greatly enjoyed Ciao Philadelphia and the wonderful country of Italy”, commented one of Fedegari VIP customers.
“Wine is bringing people together and allowing us to experience a very interesting story based on the Italian culture”, explained Giuseppe Fedegari. “Culture is really what link us together,” – commented Armando Varricchio – “this couldn’t be the best way to launch a full month of cultural activities”, concluded the Ambassador.
“Fedegari wine embodies the passion for excellence and strongly represents the distinctiveness of the products Made in Italy”, commented the Italian chef Bruno Cingolani, owner of the restaurant Dulcis Vitis in Alba (Italy), who carefully selected the ingredients for the menu of the event.
Celebrating the success
Andrea Canepari coordinated “Ciao Philadelphia” 2016 Inaugural Reception that was presented by Krystal Klei, NBC TV and commented by influential public figures. “We are all here proud of Italian-Americans”, declared Scarnati, the Senate President Pro Tempore, in his speech.
“Together with several authorities and at the most important presence of the Italian Ambassador, we celebrated: the success of the Italian American community in the region, the Italian cultural heritage in Philadelphia and future opportunities as we saw in this past year with the success of the Fedegari Technology plant in Sellersville, PA”, concluded Canepari.
